In my first two years of high school, I was at the national-award-winning First Robotics team Nutrons at Northeastern University. As a mechanical team member, I worked with other high school and university student mentors and built robots for regional and national STEM Robotics competitions. My favorite project was building the gripping system and ‘teach’ a robot to throw dodgeballs into loops for a competition, installing ultrasonic sensors, and Bluetooth control for infrared remote. I also loved being a mentor and getting middle school students interested in robotics. I always played an active role in the preparation, organization, and running of K-8 lego robotics events.
